How do I qualify for OT or PT services?
You must be uninsured or underinsured. All OT/PT clinic services are free, and therefore no insurance information is necessary. If the OT/PT clinic cannot provide you with an appointment in a timely manner, a list of area therapists will be provided.
What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy is a health and rehabilitation profession that uses a variety of techniques to restore, maintain and promote the best possible physical function. Physical therapists can help prevent/treat the onset and progression of various neurological and musculoskeletal related problems
What are rehabilitation services at the JFC?
The clinic is an educational environment that provides opportunities for students to observe, volunteer, and complete some of the clinical components of their coursework. The clinic is open year round and provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to the uninsured and underinsured community of Jackson, MS and surrounding areas.
Who provides care?
Students, overseen by licensed therapists, provide treatment through this experiential learning program. Faculty from both the Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy departments at UMC oversee the clinic.
